West Side Fall Foliage Rides

Your guide to the best fall rides in Chicago.

Now that the leaves are changing, it’s time to take advantage of the short time Chicago has to enjoy the beautiful autumn colors throughout our amazing parks! We recommend grabbing a Day Pass (unlimited 3-hour rides for 24 hours) and a few friends and taking this route:

Start off at the Garfield Park Conservatory. You can choose to go inside the venue or just look around the 12 acres of property around the conservatory. Then grab a bike, since there’s a Divvy station right outside, and head to the next stop.

Divvy Station: Conservatory Drive & Lake St.

Head north approximately 1.7 miles to Humboldt Park for your next stop. Our recommended way to travel is east on Franklin Blvd. (more park area!) and then north on Kedzie. With over 200 acres of park land to explore you can spend a lot of time perusing the lagoons, trees, and perhaps even stop in The National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture.

Divvy Stations: California Ave. & North Ave.; California Ave. & Division Ave.; Troy St. & North Ave.

If you’re up for it, head towards The 606 Trail (multiple entrances) for a 2.7 mile long ride through three Chicago neighborhoods on an elevated track. You’ll have a higher view of the fall colors as you cruise east towards the Walsh Park end of the trail because you have to be starving at this point!

Divvy Stations: Albany Ave. & Bloomingdale Ave.; Walsh Park

Head down south on Wood street to Chicago Ave where a Divvy station will be waiting for you to complete your well used Explorer Pass at Forbidden Root Restaurant & Brewery. Here you can partake in a well earned meal and beverage. We HIGHLY recommend the Milk Brined Pork Schnitzel Sandwich. It may look enormous, but after all that riding you did today, we believe in you!

Divvy Station: Chicago Ave. & Wood St.

Divvy is great for short rides too such as running errands and getting to work. Grab your Day pass and get going!
